Anime

The Dragonball series spanded longer than several other animes, besides Naruto and other series such as Ranma 1/2. Based from Akira Toriyama's manga, it has grown into four different anime series, which is broken down below. Note: This doesn't include the games or live action movies. All movies and other things come from the English translation, unless it wasn't translated into English.

Dragonball-
The original and first anime series to be published, it follows closer to Akira Toriyama's manga and comedy line. Of course, filler was introduced during the series and at times would leave plot holes. Many characters were introduced during the first series and few still remained main characters by the beginning of Z. Goku, Bulma, and Krillin were some of the few characters to remain within either the group of Z-Soldiers. Dragonball had four movies (in order of release):
Curse of the Blood Rubies, Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, Mystical Adventure, The Path to Power (10th Anniversary Special)

Dragonball Z & Kai-
DBZ adapts over from where DB ended and focuses less on comedy, while more on the action. While some people enjoyed the battle scenes, several people would have enjoyed to see more of the comedy that was originally displayed in Dragonball. Dragonball Kai is a recut and newly redone animated series where all filler has bit cut out and the series remastered. It currently has been airing only in Japan, but it appears that soon companies will be trying to get the dubbing rights (or see at least an official English subtitle translation). Dragonball Z has 14 movies, two television specials, and an OVA (in order of release, besides specials and OVA):
Dead Zone, The World's Strongest, The Tree of Might, Lord Slug, Cooler's Revenge, Return of Cooler, Super Android 13!, Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, Bojack Unbound, Broly: The Second Coming, Bio-Broly, Fusion Reborn, Wrath of the Dragon, Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!! (Japan only), Bardock: The Father of Goku (TV Special), The History of Trunks (TV Special), and Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans (OVA, Japan only).

Dragonball GT-
DBGT is an anime spin-off where DBZ ended and was not really written by Akira Toriyama. Getting the lowest ratings and often filled with plot holes, many people do not consider this series to be canon. Many comment (including Akira Toriyama) that the series is good for a spinoff or side series, such as the movies on DB and DBZ. GT had one television special:
A Hero's Legacy
