This website is not nothing special out here on the WWW. In fact, I could even give links to old Geocities websites (now on Archive.org) I found a few months ago that were probably dedicated to Krillin that are way better than mine, but here we go.

So many times my friends have asked why I adore this little guy in “a cartoon” of all things. Even my online friends who I’ve known for years do not understand why this guy appeals to me so much. They prefer Goku or even other great characters from anime and manga such as Vash (Trigun) or Usagi Tsukino herself (Sailor Moon).

Some even do not like anime, which this does not bother me in the least.

Krillin, in some aspects, shares part of my personality in many mannerisms. He is the comic relief just like I am. His best friend would want justice for him just like mine would if anything happened to me.

Krillin also shares, unfortunately, a horrible reputation among DBZ fans. One that I know all too well myself. While my reputation in real life is not Krillin’s, I can relate to how people dislike him for not being strong enough (so to speak) or being weak.

I also am not the strongest physically. I am weak compared to my friends. I have seen them go through hell and back so to speak and have managed well in their lives. I have too. I felt rejected a bit growing among my school peers just as people reject Krillin. This is what attracted me to this character mainly.

Secondly, this character is funny. He does not fade into the background as bad as other human characters in this show and he always tries to outsmart his enemies rather than trying to overpower them. I am the same way at times. I use my head when trying to confront situations that often should just require emotions.

While I cannot put into words how exactly this character charmed me the way he did, he is my favorite character from any media. I’d drop watching NCIS or reading an assignment for school just to see any news about this character. DBZ is not my favorite anime but rather, it is tied with two others that are my top three. I cannot say I’d ever pick InuYasha, Sailor Moon, or DBZ over the other but one character I pick above all is Krillin.
