Episodes & Movies

Krillin's role in the episodes of Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT differ between the situations and also between the filler episodes and actual scenes. Krillin sets his personality in the manga who gets the better of Goku by tricking him and showing he uses his mind, though not in the same way that Bulma does. He has somewhat of a sarcastic personality and is surprised he can beat Goku in simple "mathematics" and "reading." Of course, Krillin is one of the few human characters to remain a main character after the introduction of Vegeta and far greater enemies in Dragonball Z and is a minor character in Dragonball GT. He has the role of making light of a situation when it turns very dangerous and he retains this in the movies he appears in. He often is seen as a coward because he wants to run from enemies that can easily defeat him and in the Funimation Dub, Sonny Strait at times completely modifies what Mayumi Tanaka says in the Japanese version. Of course, I think the following events below mark Krillin wonderfully in the the following respectful episode and movies as on his personality and character.

#1 - "I want you to take everyone inside... (English) " - This scene happens in season nine (based on the Funimation DVD releases) where Majin Buu has escaped the Room of Spirit and Time by using his ki to "shout" and create a "portal" between the two different places. Everyone is on Kami's Lookout and Krillin charges toward Buu to get everyone inside the Lookout and in the Japanese version, he does it to protect Marron and Android 18 more than the others, but he is turned into chocolate by Majin Buu and such, he is killed.

#2 - "It pains me to say it, but he is not an opponent I can beat... (Japanese)" - This scene happens when Krillin saves a woman and her brother from being "eaten" by Cell. Krillin uses the Solar Flare here to avoid Cell, knowing he cannot beat Cell. Krillin is saved when Tien and Piccolo (who is now fussed with Kami) arrive and scare Cell of when he senses their approach.
