Original question: Who is stronger, Mirai Trunks or Trunks from the main timeline in GT?

Well...this could be a "fact" but since this is based more in my opinion, I think it will be best to put it on the theories page. There is a lot of debate among fans which Trunks is stronger, either Mirari (future) Trunks or Kid Trunks (aka Trunks from the main timeline). For the sake of this page, Trunks from the regular timeline will be refered to Kid Trunks.

Though who is stronger? The boy who grew up in a timeline as one of the last warriors or the boy who grew up training mostly because Vegeta forced it down his throat? Mirai Trunks had a hard time going Super Saiyan (as he went Super Saiyan at the age of 14) while Kid Trunks was seen as a Super Saiyan at the age of 8. In a weird way, this debate can go both ways. Mirai Trunks achieved a level beyond Super Saiyan 1 (a level between Super Saiyan 1 and Super Saiyan 2) while Kid Trunks is shown to only just have the first level of the transformation. I guess we could say that Mirai Trunks is stronger than Kid Trunks simply because of this matter. Mirai Trunks defeated Cell in his Imperfect Form in his regular timeline (and could have defeated Cell in his "semi-perfect" form) while not even Vegeta or Goku at the present time could defeat Cell at ANY point besides where Vegeta was pounding Cell in (however, Mirai Trunks was once again stronger than Vegeta at the time). Though, Kid Trunks didn't even achieve a level beyond Super Saiyan 1, so Mirai Trunks might technically be stronger than Kid Trunks.

However, when Kid Trunks is fused with Goten, is STRONGER than Mirai Trunks. Though, we have to take into account that Goten's power is combined with Kid Trunks and they easily manage to make the jump to a Super Saiyan 3 (because of a week of training in the Room of Spirit and Time), while Mirai Trunks had done training with Vegeta and didn't even achieve Super Saiyan 2. We can take into account that Mirai Trunks is probably stronger simply because he is the last warrior for Earth in his timeline, such probably making him a bit stronger than Kid Trunks.

To answer the original question though, was Kid Trunks (featured in Dragonball GT) stronger than Mirai Trunks, no Kid Trunks is NOT stronger than Mirai Trunks via Dragonball GT (the theory above comes into to play for Z, not for GT). Plus, Kid Trunks didn't even transform into a Super Saiyan very much during Dragonball GT when the situations demanded it. However, Mirai Trunks was developed BEFORE Kid Trunks in Dragonball storyline, so we may truly never know the true answer.
